One simple tip to lose weight and keep it off

It may seem obvious to everyone, but apparently researchers have now reportedly proved that checking your weight every day could help you slim down.

A two-year Cornell University study published last week found that recording the results of daily weight checks helped people lose weight and more importantly keep it off.

People who lost weight with this approach in the first year maintained that weight loss throughout the second year. That result is significant because previous studies have shown that about 40 percent of weight loss is regained within a year, and nearly 100 percent is regained within five years.

This simple approach forces you to be aware of the connection between your eating habits and your weight. It used to be thought that you shouldn’t weigh yourself daily but this new research shows its just the reverse and that for long term success, daily weigh-ins could be the key.

Interestingly, although these weigh-ins worked for both men and women, they had a much greater effect on men and as yet the researchers cannot work out why this is the case.
