Your initial consultation
WellBeing Chiropractic Clinic is easy to find, with plenty of parking
The Chiropractic Clinic is located close to the A52, A38 and the Derby ring road, as well as being close to bus routes - how to find us. The train station is only a five minute taxi ride away for those who travel from further afield. Local taxi firms regularly drop patients off at the clinic and know the fastest routes to reach us. After your treatment, the Chiropractic Assistants will be happy to telephone a taxi if you wish. Of course this is complimentary.
If you arrive by car we have ample, dedicated free parking. You will see the block paved parking spaces all located on one level, so you have easy access to the front door. All the spaces are located directly in front of the clinic itself.
There are numerous light sensitive security lights on the exterior of the Chiropractic Clinic thereby giving you a sense of security and safety. This also has the bonus of providing clear lighting over the car park to further reduce any possibility of car crime.
A warm and friendly environment to put you at your ease
On entering the clinic, you will immediately sense a warm and inviting atmosphere. The clinic has a bright, modern colour scheme, which is complimented by designer lighting. All the seats throughout the clinic have been specially chosen for their ergonomic design in order to minimise your pain and discomfort, and maximise your ability to move from sitting to standing and vice versa. Upon arrival
As soon as you arrive, you will be welcomed at reception by one of our friendly Clinic Assistants.
Complimentary refreshments (freshly brewed coffee, tea, herbal teas, juice, mineral water and biscuits) will be offered, and as a patient of the clinic, person(s) accompanying you, will be able to enjoy these whenever you come for your Chiropractic treatment.
Once you are as comfortable as possible, one of our Chiropractic assistants will sit with you and note down some basic personal details for inclusion in your new file. At this stage, you will also receive an orientation pack including a clinic leaflet and information about clinic protocols and opening hours. The Clinic Assistant will then describe details of the consultation process, and explain what will happen during the initial consultation, and also during the examination. While waiting for your appointment with your Chiropractor, you will have access to a wide range of current magazines and daily newspapers to choose from and should you bring your children with you, there is a play corner in reception, complete with toys and books.
Just off reception, is the disabled toilet which also includes the baby changing facility, and if required, nappies are available upon request.
The initial consultation - £45.00

It is WellBeing's policy for the Chiropractor to greet you personally in reception before taking you up for your first consultation. Once in the consulting room, a thorough and detailed set of case notes is taken, covering past and current medical information. See our virtual tour . Once this is complete, you will be shown into one of the changing cubicles, where you will change into one of the examination gowns (keeping your underwear on), designed specifically with comfort and modesty in mind.
The Chiropractor will then thoroughly examine you using a series of orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic tests to pinpoint the cause of your pain. The Chiropractor will use simple language throughout the examination and once the tests are completed, the Chiropractor will explain, using interactive anatomical models and simple everyday comparisons, what is causing your pain.
You can be assured that the examination process and diagnostic techniques used at the clinic are extremely thorough and have been developed using the experience and knowledge gained over a combined total of 34 years in practice. In addition, substantial investment in state-of-the-art equipment means that you can receive a broader scope of treatment methods for your condition. This also means that we can effectively treat you when one might not conventionally consider Chiropractic treatment as applicable e.g. if pregnant or with physical disabilities.
We actively encourage questions so that you can feel confident you understand exactly what is happening and can be in the best possible position to share responsibility for your recovery and future health.
One of three courses of action will then be recommended:-
Treatment
"91 % of patients are treated on their FIRST consultation"
Treatment is quite likely to start at the first consultation. There will also be further discussions about your pain, which will include advice to help minimise its severity and accelerate your recovery. This can include self-help exercises, do's and don'ts, techniques for reduction of inflammation and pain, together with ergonomic and/or postural advice. This will be further reinforced at each subsequent treatment including, if you work, appropriate advice regarding your job e.g. lifting, driving, workstation set-up etc. You will also have your treatment schedule discussed with you and subsequent appointment intervals will be recommended. Subsequent treatments are £30.00 per visit.
Referral for more information
For a small percentage of patients we need to have more information to pinpoint the diagnosis before the treatment can start. This is often an MRI scan. We are able to refer you directly for an MRI scan and have the result back very quickly - usually in a few days. We will then explain the MRI scan result in detail to you, in simple language, and if appropriate, start your treatment.
Onward referral
As 'primary healthcare practitioners' (like your GP), Chiropractors are able to diagnose a wide variety of complaints. This means faster diagnosis and treatment for you as you do not have to wait to see your GP first before they then onward refer you to the Physiotherapist. Our Chiropractors are therefore, able to differentiate between those cases which are suitable for Chiropractic treatment and those which are not. In this way, if your pain or symptom is due to a medical condition such as kidney stones, Multiple Sclerosis or Cancer, our training provides the skills to diagnose this and provide appropriate referral information to your GP. If you are one of the small percentage of our patients (less than 1%), whose conditions are not directly suitable for Chiropractic treatment, you will receive speedy diagnosis and appropriate referral where necessary.
Please note that if you fail to arrive for any of your appointments or if you give us less than 24 hours notice of cancellation, we reserve the right to make a £20.00 charge.
