What
is Chiropractic treatment like?
Your first visit will involve a full case history
together with a complete physical examination. This
will include orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic tests
which will help to pinpoint the sources of your problem.
Referral for X-rays may be necessary and afterwards all tests,
including x-rays, will be explained to you in detail,
so that you understand your particular condition.
Your
treatment
The
major component of Chiropractic treatment is the 'adjustment'.
This is a small, rapid thrust, skillfully applied to
the joint which restores normal nervous system function
in order that your body can heal itself. This treatment
is generally painless and any slight discomfort is temporary
(usually lasting no longer than 24 hours). Depending
on what we find during your examination we may address
both the musculo-skeletal and nutritional aspects.
We are also able to help a variety of conditions you
may not associate with Chiropractic treatment such as:
 |
IBS
(Irritable Bowel Syndrome) |
 |
Migraines
/ Headaches |
 |
Asthma |
How often and how long?
The number of treatments varies considerably from patient to patient. Your rate of improvement depends upon your particular problem. Many patients feel immediate improvement, whilst others will need several treatments before they start to feel better. Your Chiropractor will be able to advise you about how you are likely to respond. |
Chiropractic
philosophy
In recent years orthodox medical opinion has changed
to 'active management' based on 'early rehabilitation
and restoration of function'. In other words, aiming
to treat the cause, not the symptoms. This has been
the Chiropractic principle for over one hundred years
and is our primary aim here at WellBeing Clinics.
Preventative
care
Once
we have got you well again, our aim is to keep you functioning
at optimum levels, so that you can enjoy life to the
full. Many of our patients find that periodic check-ups
are beneficial to help them achieve this. We are happy
to advise you on an individual basis.
Complementary therapies
Massage: Whether you need relaxation or stimulation,
lymph drainage or postural improvement, a therapeutic
massage is for you. Our friendly environment is the
ideal place for you to relax and benefit from a professional
part or full body massage and take a few well earned
minutes to yourself. Young or old, male or female -
everyone can benefit. [more].
How do I make an appointment?
You don't need your GP's referral, just give us a call,
pop in or email us. If you enter into an episode of
treatment you can either pay us directly or, if you
have private medical insurance we can invoice your insurance
company directly.
Insurance cover
Our Chiropractors are registered providers with BUPA
and PPP and are also recognised by all other insurance
companies. Remember that some insurance companies require
referral from your GP in order to validate your claim.
Remember to mention that you have insurance when you
call to book your appointment. Please ask for further
details.
Company care plans
Your company can also benefit from Chiropractic care.
Some tangible ways are by reducing absenteeism and sickness
costs, reducing turnover of staff and improving productivity
and sales. Some non-tangible benefits are less workforce
errors and less litigation. Please contact us today
for further information.
