Meet the Chiropractors

Richard Nelson BSc. DC - Originally from the Isle of Man, Richard chose chiropractic as his career after seeing how much his father's neck pain and headaches were relieved by treatment from a British Chiropractic Association (BCA) Chiropractor. As soon as he graduated in 1992, he moved to Derby and started practising at a clinic in the city. In 2000 he decided to set up WellBeing Clinics with his colleague Ian Reed. Richard enjoys a game of golf, although most of his spare time is spent with wife Vicky and daughter, Suzannah.

Ian Reed BSc. DC - Born in Cambridge, Ian moved with his family to Devon when he was 7 yrs old and it was there that he grew up. An undiagnosed broken elbow led Ian to seek chiropractic advice at the age of 18 yrs, and the damage was identified for the first time. This event sparked his interest and, after finding more out about chiropractic, he decided it was what he wanted to do. Ian joined Richard at the same clinic in Derby in 1993 where they both stayed until starting WellBeing Clinics in 2000. Ian is married and has two children which keep him very busy as well as two dogs which he enjoys walking in the countryside near his home.
Both Ian and Richard graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. All our chiropractors are members of the British Chiropractic Association and are registered with the General Chiropractic Council. In order to maintain this status they are required to participate in a programme of ongoing postgraduate education similar to that of your own General Practitioner. Postgraduate events help to make them aware of the latest approaches for different conditions and also keep them up-to-date with current research. In addition our chiropractors carry out regular internal meetings to exchange views, audit their procedures and carry out a process of continuous improvement to further develop and upgrade their services to patients.
